In high school, you have to take specific standardized tests for colleges to see. This blog post will be focusing on the PSAT.
One question that is frequently asked is What is the PSAT? To answer your question, the PSAT does not count toward your college applications, but it is a standardized test that you can submit for a merit scholarship.
What is the Merit Scholarship? The Merit Scholarship is a scholarship offered to 10th and 11th graders. Schools provide the PSAT to both 10th and 11th graders. In most schools, you take the PSAT in the fall.
When you take the PSAT in 10th grade, it is like a practice PSAT colleges will never see your 10th-grade PSAT score, it is mostly for your benefit to know what is on the PSAT, and it helps you gain experience about it. But one bad thing about the PSAT in 10th grade is you can't apply for a merit scholarship yet. You have to be in 11th grade to be able to apply for the merit scholarship.
This brings me to when you take the PSAT in 11th grade. When you take the PSAT in 11th grade, you can apply for the Merit Scholarship. Some ways that you could prepare for the PSAT is going to your local library or bookstore, and you could grab PSAT prep books. One reason I decided to blog about the PSAT is because I have to take it next Wednesday, but good news I'm only in 10th grade, so it's not as stressful. But I hope this helped! And leave comments, so I know people are reading my blog!!
Here is a pretty picture to help you relax from all your stresses!

Plastic in our oceans
To this day, plastic is a huge problem. Plastic is a part of our daily lives whenever we go shopping for clothes, grocery shopping. The cashier always gives you a plastic bag to hold and store the stuff you bought. Even though plastic is very convenient and helpful, it is horrible for the climate, the reason for this is because plastic is not biodegradable. This makes it so that plastic is around for 1,000 years before it is decomposed. If we continue with this, the earth will become ruined because of our overuse of plastic. However, there are ways to help our earth, for example, reusable bottles like hydro flask's, yeti's, any reusable bottles. There are also reusable bags that you could use for your grocery shopping or clothes shopping.
Nevertheless, one of the most plastics consumed in the ocean is plastic straws, plastic bags, plastic bottles, in general plastic. When plastic first enters the ocean, it floats, but over time it will sink to the ocean floor, and then the plastics will break into small pieces of plastic called microplastics. Recently a diver had set a record with one of the deepest dives made yet, which is a great accomplishment, but the horrible thing about this is that instead of finding amazing new sea creatures, he found plastic tons and tons of plastic. This indicates that if we do not change what we do every day, we are putting the world at risk. So what you can try to do is use less plastic, try to get a water bottle or a reusable bag. In conclusion, I will be trying to raise awareness and trying to solve the problem of plastic in this world today.

Home Alone
For this past week, my mom has been out of town and my dad has to work so I have been home alone with my little brother. This may sound easy but it's actually very hard and frustrating, this is hard and frustrating because I am in charge of my little brother but he doesn't listen to me and it ends up making me look like I'm not telling him to do the stuff he has to do for example he has to play piano, do his math and la textbooks, his pushups, and his situps. But he doesn't listen to me, that's one complication. But there are many other complications also known as food. For example, I have to make him lunch and that's not very good, because I'm not a very good cook. And the truth is my little brother is a better cook than me. So technically he's the one making us lunch, which is kind of pathetic for me like right now he's making us lunch and he's doing a really good job. Let's just say my little brother is quite good at making us food. But in conclusion, those are some complications for when I'm home alone with my little brother.

Latin Final!
I'm so nervous because tomorrow I have my Latin final, and I'm super nervous since there are so many case endings and formulas to memorize. But not only that but fall term has flown by, such as I can remember everything we did but it just feels so short. Like the year is flying by, and it just feels like a leaf blowing away in the blink of an eye. But I know I'm going to try as hard as I can on all my finals. And hopefully I will do great on all of them and if I don't, I will know that I tried my best. But as a human being of course I want to get all A's for the fall term!
