Real Estate Agent

What is a real estate agent? Real estate agents are licensed to help sellers sell and buyers buy real estate. They are also licensed to operate, negotiate, and arrange sales under the supervision of a real estate broker. It is also usually a requirement for property managers to be licensed in real estate.

A beginner real estate agent will likely sell fewer houses and have lower incomes. However according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics the average real estate agent earns $45,990 each year, but the range in income is massive. One-tenth of real estate agents earned less than $23,000 and 10% earned more than $110,000. Overall real estate brokers and sales agents earned a median income of $50,300 a year in 2018. Median meaning the half that earned more than this, and half that earned less. Top real estate agents make a lot more, and agents who sell one home every few months earn less.
