University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), Ivy League

The University of Pennsylvania also known as UPenn is a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this blog post, I will refer to the University of Pennsylvania as UPenn. The average cost before aid is $57,770 the average cost after aid is $24,000. UPenn's graduation rate is 95%, and its acceptance rate is 9%.

UPenn is particularly well known for its medical school, dental school, design school, business school, law school, engineering school, communications school, nursing school, veterinary school, it's social sciences and humanities programs, as well as its biomedical teaching and research capabilities. UPenn's highly ranked graduate programs include its Wharton School, School of Education, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Law School and School of Medicine. Penn's other notable graduate programs include its School of Design and School of Dental Medicine.

You will need exceptionally good grades to get into UPenn, the average high school GPA of the admitted freshman class at UPenn was 3.9 on the 4.0 scale indicating that you would need exceptionally good grades. The 25th percentile New SAT score is 1440 and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1560. In other words, a 1440 places you below average while a 1560 will move you up to above average. An earlier report listed six universities from Pennsylvania in the top 100 nationally, Pennsylvania is ranked at 50 in the higher education category. The category considers things like two-year college graduation rates, four-year graduation rates, debt, and tuition and fees.

According to many reports, Cornell, Dartmouth, and UPenn are by far the easiest Ivy Leagues to get into. And Harvard, Yale, and Princeton are 3 of the hardest Ivy Leagues to get into. What makes UPenn unique? Penn's campus is really awesome, it has its own character, and everything you would need, but it is also a great city.

Cornell, Ivy League

Cornell University is a private and lawful Ivy League research university located in Ithaca, New York. Cornell University was founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White; the university is intended to teach and make contributions in all fields of knowledge.

The average cost of Cornell University is $73,904, and after aid, it is usually around $31,230. The graduation rate of Cornell University is 94%, and the acceptance rate is 13%, which is considered pretty high compared to the other Ivy League Universities.

To be able to be admitted into Cornell University, you would need to have a GPA of 3.9 or above and have an SAT score of close to 1550, or an ACT score of 34 or above.

Cornell is known for their two large undergraduate colleges, The College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Its graduate schools include the highly ranked S.C. Cornell is also well known for its top-ranked College of Veterinary Medicine and the highly esteemed School of Hotel Administration. Cornell is also known for their method of Cornell notes. Personally, I wouldn't say I liked Cornell notes because it was a lot of work; however, it is truly a great way of taking notes.

The top three schools in terms of the Ivy League are Harvard, Princeton, and Yale. On the low end, UPenn, also known as the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell, are considered the two easiest Ivy League schools to get in. However, even UPenn and Cornell are tough to get into.

Dartmouth, Ivy League

Dartmouth College is a private Ivy League research university in Hanover, New Hampshire. Established in 1769 by Eleazar Wheelock, it is the ninth oldest institution of higher education. Before aid, Dartmouth costs $74,359. However, usually after support, it costs around $30,421. Its graduation rate is 94%, and the acceptance rate is 10%.

Dartmouth is initially known for being relatively conservative, emphasis on undergraduate education, small graduate programs, strong professional schools. For example, business, medical, engineering, and exceptional STEM undergraduate programs. Dartmouth is also best known for its focus on undergraduate students, despite the fact that Dartmouth is actually a university with plenty of graduate students. Everything is geared towards helping undergraduates find a good graduate program or a good job.

The 25th percentile New SAT score is 1420, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 1560. In other words, a 1420 places you below average, while a 1560 will move you up to an above-average position. There's not an absolute SAT requirement at Dartmouth, but they want to see at least a 1420 to have a chance at being considered

Dartmouth's educational quality places it among the top 20% best colleges and universities nationwide. The school's overall net price reflects that quality, earning it #628 as it's ranking on the Best Colleges for the Money list.

As a college, Dartmouth is also the smallest school in the Ivy League. It is known for its tight-knit community, which is why they take the "fit" component during the application process very seriously. The D-Plan: You probably cannot go through one conversation with a Dartmouth student without mention of the D-Plan. The Dartmouth Plan (or "D-Plan") is a unique and flexible calendar system which provides student with unparalleled opportunities to design an educational program that is most closely suited to their needs, interest, and aspirations.

Brown, Ivy League

Brown University is an Ivy League university located in Rhode Island.

Image result for brown universityThe most popular majors at Brown University include Computer Science, Econometrics and Quantitative Economics, Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, Biology/Biological Sciences General, and Engineering. The average recognition rate, an indicator of student satisfaction, is 98%. The average cost of Brown University after aid is $30K; the graduation rate is 96%, and the acceptance rate is 8%.

To be able to get into Brown University, you would need a GPA of 4.09, Brown University requires you to be at the top of your class. You'll need nearly straight A's in all your classes to compete with other applicants. It would help if you also had taken many AP or IB classes to show your ability to survive college. But then again, most Ivy Leagues look at this.

As an Ivy League university, Brown is looking for students who have demonstrated exceptional performance in and out fo the classroom while in high school. However, given that Brown is an Ivy League school, there is the competitiveness of the application process, performance alone is not enough.

As you can see, Brown University is tough to get into. This is also the same with the other Ivy League schools.

Columbia, Ivy League

Columbia is an Ivy League university located in the city of New York. Columbia is also the fifth oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. There average cost AFTER aid is $24K, their graduation rate is 96%, and their acceptance rate is %7.

To be able to get into Columbia, you would need an average GPA: 4.13. With a GPA of 4.13, Columbia University claims that to be able to get in, you'll need nearly straight A's in all your classes. These classes should also be challenging classes, for example, AP or IB. This shows that the college level of academics will be quite straightforward. The majority of admits are in the top 10% of their class and have taken APs and honors courses throughout high school. What Colombia looks for in an applicant is, they look for exemplary students who are academically prepared for a challenging education.

The most popular majors at Columbia University include Social Sciences, Engineering; Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services; Biological and Biomedical Sciences; and Psychology.

Columbia University provides a high-quality education at a lower than average cost than other schools with a similar quality. This results in a good value for the educational dollar and earns Columbia a #574 ranking on the Overall Best Colleges for Money List.

Yale, Ivy League

Yale is Ivy League University, located in New Haven, Connecticut. When you think of Ivy League universities, you probably only think of Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. This is okay. These three universities are the top Ivy League schools in the Ivy League program these three universities are also considered some of the very best colleges/universities in the US.

This blog post will be about Yale University!

When you first think of Yale University, you have the question of which school is better Harvard or Yale? Yale is generally regarded as having a better undergraduate program, both academically and experientially. While Harvard is usually considered as having a better graduate program across most of the schools where the two universities go head to head.

The most popular majors at Yale University include Social Sciences, Biological, and Biomedical Sciences; History; Mathematics and Statistics; and Engineering. The average freshman retention rate, an indicator of student satisfaction, is 99%.

Yale has a 6.3% acceptance rate, which is a higher acceptance rate than Princeton. To get into Princeton, you would need to be the top of your class GPA-wise. The average GPA of admitted applicants to Yale is 4.12. This means you will need straight As even to be competitive with other applicants.

Yale is also extremely hard to get into just like Harvard and Princeton, which I talked about in these blogs!

Princeton, Ivy League

Princeton is an Ivy League university located in New Jersey. Princeton is one of the eight Ivy League universities. Princeton is unique because it negotiates nothing; around the world, it is thought of as one of the most elite research institutions in the world, but even through all that, they have complete and total dedication to their undergraduate students.

To have a higher chance of getting into any university, you would have to have an interview with that school's admission center. At Princeton, interviews are offered to most or some applicants. Usually, a school that provides interviews will do so through alumni volunteers. Any school will do it's best to give an interview for every applicant who wants one.

Princeton is one of the most challenging schools to get into in the country. As of 2018, they only accepted 5.5% of applicants to the class of 2022. This means to have a chance of being admitted. You need to be at the top of your class and have an SAT score of close to 1550 or an ACT score of around 35. This is for the undergraduate level. Princeton's graduates are some of the best in the world in virtually every academic field.

What any university is looking for in an applicant is, AP and honors classes this shows that you challenged yourself academically and succeeded. Another example would be challenging extracurricular activities, for example, a sport. Some other things universities look at is volunteer and work experience, test scores, quality recommendation letters, a well-written essay, talents, and passions.

Some notable alumni from Princeton would be Jeff Bezos, Michelle Obama.

To summarize, it is extremely hard to get into Princeton!

Harvard, Ivy League

This blog will be about all the details about Harvard! I personally don't like Harvard because they are racist to the Asian race, and well, I'm Chinese so.

But I am still researching Harvard because it is the top university in the world as of 2019-2020. Harvard is ranked the number one university on this website https://cwur.org/2018-19.php. I feel this is a reliable source because instead of ending in .com as in community, it ends in .org meaning this website is from an organization.

On this website, Harvard is ranked the top university as of 2019-2020. Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Harvard contains around 6,700 undergraduate students and about 13,100 postgraduate students.

It is exceptionally hard to get into Harvard. To get into Harvard, you would have to have a 4.04 GPA. It would also be easier to get in through legacy, meaning if your parents and grandparents, etc. went to Harvard. This is similar to many other universities; however, Harvard is one of the Universities that consider legacy. 

Harvard was founded in 1636, it's tuition is $48,949 as of (2017-2018). Its average financial aid award is $50,562. Its acceptance rate is %5.2 (class of 2021). The average SAT score was 2235 (class of 2020), similar to 1530 on the new SAT.

Harvard also offers many sports, but in both men and women, they are known mostly for their soccer. I have never heard of their soccer teams, but I may be biased!

Just through this, you can see that it is quite challenging to get into Harvard, but personally, I don't want to go to Harvard because they probably wouldn't accept me but also because they are incredibly racist.
