Late Night soccer training

Hi, so last night me and my family went to my high school field and we played some soccer. Sort of, my little brother had to run 3 miles so he ran 15 laps around the field while I trained with my dad and my mom watched. It was nice being able to go out and play soccer just for fun because recently I have only been doing high school practice in the morning and they aren't fun at all because it's all fitness and it's really competitive so it isn't fun at all. But last night I got to go out and just pass the ball around and just have fun. However I won't be able to do this anymore for a while because I have school starting Monday, and practices are moved to after school now.

School starts in 2 days

Hi, sorry I haven't been blogging a lot recently I have been busy with soccer and getting ready for school. Anyways my first day of school is on Monday, however, I am doing all online so hopefully, it will be easier. Yesterday I got my school supplies (textbooks, and art supplies), and I got all my binders notebooks and folders ready. I also wrote my summaries for my summer reading "Much Ado About Nothing", all I have left to do to get ready is to finish reading Of Mice and Men and finish writing and print my summaries. I feel pretty excited but also nervous for the school year because it is Junior year, and I'm taking 3 AP's and an honors class, and I also have high school soccer after school. It's also harder because I am taking online school, and we are in the middle of a Pandemic.

Last days of Summer

Hi, sorry I didn't blog yesterday I was at my soccer game all day. Anyway's my school starts in 4 days which sucks because I am not ready for summer to be over. I am going into my junior year so it's going to be tough. Anyways I am not excited because I haven't done much over the summer because of corona, and now I have to return back to school not remembering anything, and taking 3 AP's and 1 honors class. All I got to say is it's going to be a rough year. Anyway's for these last days of Summer I will probably just play soccer and start getting ready for school.

Second game tomorrow!

Hi, sorry I didn't blog yesterday I was out of the house all day because I had a soccer game. The game didn't go too well, we lost 3-1 which is ok considering we had only played as a team for 4 days. Anyways, during the game, I had to wear a mask and it was absolute torture. In fact, after the game I had a mask tan, anyways the game was ok but it was also really hot and exhausting. It was also my first real game in 6 months so I was really rusty. Anyways tomorrow I have another game, and I'm feeling a lot more motivated to play so hopefully it will be better.

First game tomorrow!

Hi, sorry I didn't blog yesterday it was my day off from soccer so it kinda left my mind. But anyway I'm back with another blog. Anyway's tomorrow I have my first soccer game of Junior year. I am actually very nervous about it because we are going against a 5A school and my school is a 2A team. However, I'm also really excited because there is a varsity game than a junior varsity game. I'm excited about this because varsity is the first game, then since there are a bunch of people on the teams now varsity doesn't have to play JV games. So I just have to play varsity then I can relax and just watch the JV game. If this were a regular year and there wasn't corona I would be riding the bus to the game, the bus is a le bus (really nice bus company). However, instead my mom will be driving me to every game which kind of sucks but it's whatever.

Fourth day of Junior season

Hi, so today was the fourth day of my Junior soccer season. Today we started practice with a 3-mile run, to loosen up everyone's muscles since everyone was sore. After the 3 mile run, we did some simple volleys with our partners. After volleys, we just did some team bonding with everyone and got to know everyone. After the bonding exercise, we did some shooting, then a cool down. As you can see it was a really easy and chill day. The reason why it was so chill today is that we have had intense practice all week, and also because we have our first game against a 5A school on Monday, keep in mind my school is a 2A school.

Third day of Junior season

Hi, so today was the third day of my Junior soccer season. It actually went pretty good we spent like 20 minutes at three different stations. So the first station I started at was the running, what we had to do was ladders but with the entire field, it's hard to explain but just imagine doing ladders on a whole soccer field and every time you see a line you have to turn around and run back to where you started. We had to do two of those and it actually wasn't really bad you just had to pace yourself. The second station I went to was the workout station so we just had to do planks and squats and burpees and a bunch of other exercises for thirty seconds three times. After that, my group went to do agility and agility was actually really easy. After that, we split into the varsity and JV teams and scrimmage for the last hour and a half. It was actually a pretty good scrimmage, I'm pretty sure varsity won 5-0 or more, so I scored the first goal and assisted the majority of the other goals. However, while we were scrimmaging I was wearing a mask so I don't get corona and it's actually really difficult. Anyway's that is the third day in my junior year soccer season.

Second day of Junior season

Hi, so this morning was the second day of my junior soccer season. For the majority of the practice we had to run. So what happened was we were split into two groups the first group was the varsity starters, the second group was the rest of the people. Anyways I was in the first group so we had to run 3 miles up hill, then run up these huge hills 10 times in a row right after we ran three miles, then right after the 10 hill runs we had to run 3 miles back to the field where we practice. After we ran we switched with the other group. After we switched we were doing basic passing drills, and we also did a bonding exercise. That was it for my second day of junior season, I was on the varsity team like last year and we did a lot of running. After when I got home I was super sore, and I could barely walk.

First day of Junior season

Today, was the first day of my junior soccer season. I would say it went really well, especially under the circumstances right now. We started by splitting into two groups one group was filled with sophomores and seniors, the other was filled with freshmen and juniors. Of course, I was in the group with juniors and freshmen. My group started by running two miles timed, then after we had two do 3 ends to ends, for the end to ends if you were expecting to play varsity you had to get the end to ends you would have to get 45 seconds or under, however, because this is right after we ran 2 miles, the coaches said if you were 1-4 seconds later it's ok. So the time for my three ends to ends is 41, 45, 46, I feel like those times are actually pretty good considering I'm kind of out of shape and I had just ran two miles. After we did the running my group just did simple passing, then long balls those were all really easy since it's basic soccer. After we did that for a while my group switched to dribbling skills while doing push-ups. we switched between these two drills twice. After we did that we did an ab workout then cooldown then we were done. Keep in mind the practice was 3 hours long at 7 am, the plus side is that I got a bunch of new gear.

High School season starting

Hi, sorry for not blogging recently I have been busy getting my summer reading done and doing some personal soccer training with my family. However, supposedly the high school season is starting tomorrow after the 2-week delay. I don't know if I'm excited or not because there's a high chance of getting COVID and a lot will be different for example we can't be in contact, and I also won't be able to ride the bus to games and I will have to wear a mask while playing. However, the board of my school is having a meeting today to decide whether the school will do all online all in person or hybrid, they will also be deciding whether or not to cancel all of the sports seasons.

Permit Test

Hi, so recently I have been studying for my permit test. I actually turned 15 in February but I wasn't able to get my permit because I was busy with finals, then corona started so I wasn't able to get it. However, for the past week, I have been studying for it, by getting an app on my phone, taking practice tests off of google, and reading the driver handbook from the DMV website. I feel like I will pass on one of my first 3 tries. I will probably take the test sometime next week before summer ends. I can't wait to get my permit because I am definitely the last in my grade to get my permit (everyone in my grade is getting their licenses), in fact, the majority of the people in the grade below me are older than me.

Personal Training

Hi, sorry for not blogging in like 2 days I have been really tired from soccer training. Lately every night from around 7pm to 9 pm me and my family go to my high school to work on some soccer. Because I am on the soccer team I know the code to the goals so I am able to use them. What we work on during these training sessions we work on shooting, for example, power, and accuracy. We also work on a lot of passing drills then finishing. I really like doing these types of training's because I get to shoot on an actual sized goal. And it's just really nice to be able to go out and play soccer at night with my family and for most of the time it isn't even that hot it's really nice like not too hot and not too cold.

Soccer

Hi, for the past couple of months I haven't been able to do any shooting for soccer due to corona. However last night after 6 months I was able to go out to a field and work on my shooting. Me and my dad and little brother drove down to my school soccer field to play. Because I am on the soccer team I know what the code for the locks on the goals is so we were able to work on some shooting. I feel like during these 6 months I have improved in my soccer because I have improved on my juggling and leg strength. What we were working on while shooting was power. After we did shooting we put the goals away and worked on touches. For example, my dad would drop kick the ball and I would have to stop it in front of me which I did really well. And then we also worked on some long balls, my long balls have definitely improved. I feel like it was really fun to be able to go out and actually play soccer, and I will never take soccer for granted again.

Confiscated

Hi, so today I got my phone confiscated, to be honest, I think it was stupid. The reason I got my phone confiscated was that I reset my screen time so it wouldn't show the time from the beginning of the week. Which I think is fair since I have been getting all of my stuff down and I haven't been wasting time so what's wrong with hiding some of the time I have used. Anyways after I finished my ACT practice test my dad gave me my phone back.

ACT prep workshop

Hi, so last night I had an ACT prep free workshop off of zoom. I personally thought it was actually really helpful because we went over some questions and there were just small tips. During the workshop, I also took different types of notes. Some tips were like "note the differences in the answer choices", "if an answer is even a partially incorrect, it is a wrong answer, eliminate it", or "read the labels on the axes, key, and units of measurement carefully". I feel like going over the problems with a teacher there is very helpful because they can guide you and give you tips that can overall improve your entire score.

ACT prep

Hi, so tonight I have an ACT prep workshop from the University of Utah and it's free. I don't know how it's going to go since it's my first time doing it. All I know is that it will be held over zoom and we had to print out this packet with practice problems and tips. I already looked over it and did the practice questions, so when the actual zoom meeting is held I can just check my answers. That's all for today's blog since there isn't much to blog about but for tomorrow's blog I will explain and describe what the workshop was like.

Jobs at age 15

This blog will be about the research I have done, about getting jobs at the age of 15. You see I am 15 right now and I need a job to be able to make money, so I can buy things without asking my parents for money all the time. So I searched up different jobs I can get near me in Utah that will allow me to have a job. I will have a list below.

1. AMC Theaters. (hires ushers and concession workers 14 and older at select locations)
2. Baskin Robbins (hires team members at 14 and older at select locations)
3. Burger King (select states hire team members 14 and older)
4. Chick-fil-A
5. Culver's
6. Dairy Queen
7. Grocery stores (typically the only retail stores that hire 15 year-olds, and positions usually include things like cashiers, car attendants, stock room associates, and customer service)

However, right now I am not able to get a job because of coronavirus and I have been self quarantining, however, once there is a vaccine found, or numbers get better I will be able to go and get my permit then try and find a job.

Bracelets and Anklets

So over the weekend, I have made several bracelets and anklets for me and my family. For example, I made myself a blue anklet with turtle charms knotted in, I also made different yarn bracelets for my mom and little brother. However, the two bracelets that I am most proud of are the two with the turtles one is with me and one is with my little brother. The one my little brother has are small beads with turtles in it, it's kind of hard to describe so I will put pictures to show what it looks like. I feel like it was nice to make these bracelets because while making these bracelets I could watch tv, while doing it.
a

The first picture shown is the one with the knots with turtles, it is an anklet. The second picture is the beaded bracelet that my little brother wears. The third picture is just a normal yarn bracelet that my little brother also wears. There are other anklets and bracelets but they aren't as good as these ones. That's it for my blog today.

My day!

Today's blog will be a short blog because I'm not really feeling like blogging about universities or careers. But basically, I will just talk about my day, so last night I learned that my high school soccer season was being delayed due to COVID. I was actually relieved that it was delayed because if the season had started like normal I probably wouldn't have been able to play in the games or go to practice. Today I also had some friends visit me since I haven't seen anyone since March since I have been quarantining. Anyways a couple of my friends drove by to say hi, and we definitely stayed like 12 feet away, but they brought me swig. Swig is this sort of soda shop that mixes different sodas with flavors, however, I can't drink it until tomorrow because the virus needs to die. I have already disinfected it and it's in the fridge right now. This was only the beginning of my day.

Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech)

The Georgia Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as Georgia Tech, or in the state of Georgia, as Tech, is a public research university and institute of technology in Atlanta, Georgia. The average cost before aid is $28,776, and the cost after aid is $13,291. The acceptance rate is 23% and the graduation rate is 85%. Georgia Institute of Technology's ranking in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is #29. Georgia Tech has six colleges, it is a highly ranked graduate school including the College fo Engineering and Scheller College of Business. Georgia Tech is also very active in their research.

The minimum GPA requirement is 3.3 on a 4..0 grade scale for the College of Computing and College of Engineering applicants. The average ACT score for students at Georgia Tech is from a 30-34. The average composite SAT score is 1465, with the average reading&writing score at 715, and the average math section at 750. The 25th percentile composite score is 1390, with the reading&writing section at 680, and the math section with 710.

The best thing about Georgia Tech is that it's a college in every sense of the word. There is pride, there is alcohol (don't drink), and there is the stereotypical college experience that everyone has in their 4, 5, 6 years of college. And withing this college there is an amazing community. Georgia Tech is known for being one of the best engineering universities in the nation! In fact, Georgia Tech has a few number one programs in the nation. For example Biomedical and Industrial, in addition, Georgia Tech is known as a research university. The most popular majors at Georgia Tech include Engineering; Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Biological and Biomedical Sciences; and Physical Sciences.

The Georgia Institute of Technology, for the most part, is safe. It is a college in a city and most of the crime has occurred in a transitional area, near the campus.
