University of Illinois--Urbana-Champaign (UIUC)

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is a great institution for higher education. While it is true that UIUC is known for its engineering and business programs, exceptional professors and other resources are available across the board. Alongside stellar education, campus life at the university is also amazing. UIUC is a public land grant research university in Illinois in the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana. It is the flagship institution of the University of Illinois system and was founded in 1867. The average cost before aid is $30,102 and the average cost after aid is $18,377. The acceptance rate is 62%, and the graduation rate is 85%. UIUC is just another large state school, for the programs in which UIUC is ranked highly, it's very well reputed among the people in that area or following that area.

To get into UIUC you will need an average GPA of 3.83, which means UIUC requires you to be near the top of your class, and well above average. The average ACT score composite at UIUC is a 29. The 25th percentile ACT score is 26, and the 75th percentile ACT score is 32. In other words, 26 places you below average, while a 32 will move you up to above average. The average composite SAT score is 1350, with the math section at 700, and the reading&writing section at 650. The 25th percentile SAT composite is 1220, with the math section at 620, and the reading&writing at 600.

What's unique about the campus of UIUC is that everything is so close and compact. Classes, residence halls, bars, and restaurants are all within walking distance. The size of the campus is a great attribute. UIUC comprises 15 colleges and schools. Its school of information sciences, college of engineering and department of psychology are among the best in the country. The school's college of business, college of education, and college of law are also highly ranked. The most popular majors at UIUC include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Biological and Biomedical Sciences; Engineering; Psychology; and Health Professions and Related Programs.
