Stanford

Stanford University, officially known as Leland Stanford Junior University. Stanford is a private research university in Stanford California. Stanford is known for its academic achievements, wealth, and selectivity. It is also really close to the Silicon Valley. Stanford ranks as one of the world's top universities. Stanford is also considered an Ivy League even though it isn't called one. If you want to read my other blogs on Universities the link will be down below!

Stanford is considered one of the top universities in the world. Students from families making between $95,000 and $125,000 receive $57,098 on average in scholarships and grant aid, making their average net cost $16,294. Even 44% of students from families that make over $245,000 receive some kind of aid at Stanford. As you can see Stanford is pretty expensive. The average cost after aid is $13,000, the acceptance rate is 5% and the graduation rate is 94%.

Stanford Universities's most popular majors include computer and information sciences, support services, engineering, multi/interdisciplinary studies, social sciences, and physical sciences. To get into Stanford you would need at least a GPA of 3.94, this kind of GPA requires you to be at the top of your class. You'll need nearly straight A's in all your classes to compete with other applicants. You should also be taking hard classes, for example, AP or IB courses to show that college-level academics will be easy for you. The typical test scores you would need to get into Stanford University would include getting a 690-760 on the SAT reading and writing, a 700-780 on the SAT math section and a 32-35 on the ACT composite.

When people first think of Stanford they think of which college is better Stanford or Harvard, there is no better college since they are both really great schools. However Stanford is a bubble more than Harvard, Harvard is bigger by funding and faculty in most departments, and is classically strong in the natural sciences (math, biology, physics, chemistry) whereas Stanford is more applied (CS, electrical engineering).

Some of the reasons Stanford is seen as the most prestigious university in America is its acceptance rate, student to faculty ration, alumni and its opportunities it provides. Fun face Stanford has the lowest acceptance rate in America at 4.8%. Stanford also offers great value and helps students who need financial aid.

  1. A lot of Stanford students also started a lot of successful companies. If you want to be an entrepreneur, you should consider this one.

Also don't expect any financial help from any of these universities. You can only rely on merit based scholarships.
